About RAJAPI-COP Africa

A pan-African network serving youth and climate

Our Mission

RAJAPI-COP Africa is the Network of African Youth Bringing Innovative Projects to the Climate, Biodiversity and Desertification COPs for social justice and gender equality.

Our mission is to mobilize, support and connect young people who design and carry concrete, integrated and transformative solutions to the challenges of climate change, biodiversity erosion, desertification, and social and gender inequalities, in full coherence with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the commitments of the Paris Agreement.

Climate COP

Climate COP – UNFCCC

is the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC / UNFCCC). It brings together each year the signatory States, as well as observers (international organizations, civil society, scientists, youth, private sector), to negotiate, adopt and evaluate international policies to combat climate change.

Biodiversity COP

Biodiversity COP

The Biodiversity COP (Conference of the Parties) is the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), adopted at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992. It regularly brings together States parties, as well as international organizations, scientists, indigenous peoples, youth and civil society actors, to decide on global directions for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.

Desertification COP

Desertification COP

The Desertification COP (Conference of the Parties) is the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), adopted in 1994. It periodically brings together States parties, as well as international organizations, scientists, local communities, youth and civil society actors, to coordinate global action against desertification, land degradation and the effects of drought, particularly in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid areas.

Participation of RAJAPI-COP in the activities of DISD (UN DESA)

As part of its commitment to social and environmental justice, RAJAPI-COP takes part in the activities of the Division for Inclusive Social Development (DISD) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). This engagement aims to amplify the voice of African youth and the Global South in discussions on inclusive social development, the reduction of inequalities, and community resilience in the face of climate and environmental challenges.

This participation seeks to strengthen the engagement of African youth in the protection of aquatic ecosystems, climate resilience, and inclusive governance of natural resources.
